Peggy Jackson

December 9, 1951 — February 9, 2024

Peggy Jackson, 72, of Havelock NC passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024 at her daughter's home in Otway.

Peggy was the beloved daughter of the late Julia King and Clarence Sharpe. Her life was a tapestry of close-knit family bonds, woven with the threads of love and shared experiences with her siblings. Her journey was marked by the fond memories of her late sister, Rita Banks, late sister Donna Sharpe, and her late husband, David Jackson, with whom she shared many of life's chapters. Peggy's spirit will be carried on by her brother, Ronnie Sharpe of Asheville, NC, her sister, Maxine Robinson, also of Asheville, and her brother, Ricky Sharpe of Tennessee.

A proud graduate of Asheville High School, formerly known as Lee Edwards High School, Peggy's life was characterized by her unwavering commitment to her family. She took great pride in her work, cleaning houses and being a devoted mother to her four children. Her dedication to her family was her greatest accomplishment, and she instilled values of love, kindness, and resilience in her children.

Peggy's legacy is lovingly cherished by her children’s father, John Brown Sr., her eldest daughter, Karen Brown and son-in-law, Gene Yarborough, as well as her daughter, Kim Owenby.

She was preceded in death by her son, John Brown.

Her youngest daughter, Gina Brown, alongside her grandchildren, Dyllan, Kelsey, Michael, Haillie, Johnalon, and John (Jr), and eight great-grandchildren, all of Beaufort, NC, will forever hold her in their hearts. She also leaves behind several adoring nieces and nephews, whose lives have been profoundly touched by her kindness and wisdom.

Beyond her family, Peggy had a passion for animals and found great joy in their companionship. Her gentle soul and compassionate nature were evident in the way she cared for every creature she encountered. Her interests extended to the simple pleasures in life, such as spending quality time with her family, which was always her top priority.

Peggy's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds. Her unwavering support and selfless nature made her the cornerstone of her family. She navigated the challenges of life with grace and tenacity, always putting the needs of her loved ones above her own. Her smile, her laughter, and her ability to light up a room will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

As we say goodbye to Peggy, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those she has left behind. Peggy Jackson's story does not end here, for she has left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends, and her legacy will live on through the lives of those she loved so dearly.

Peggy's life will be honored in a private ceremony, attended by her closest family and friends. Her passing is not just a time for mourning, but also an occasion to reflect on the joy and happiness she brought into our lives. We will forever carry Peggy's memory in our hearts, finding comfort in the knowledge that her love will continue to envelop us, even though she is no longer with us in body, she remains with us in spirit.
