Ruth Mae Norris

Obituary Ruth Mae Norris, 91, of Havelock, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at her home with family. Her private graveside service is at 11:00 am Sunday at Oak Grove UMC, officiated by Pastor Rochele Bailey. Out of respect for everyones health, the family invites extended family and friends to view the service on Noe Funeral Services live facebook feed. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Ms. Ruth was born September 22, 1928 to Isabel and Louis Jardin in Honolulu, HI. She was attending childrens mass when Pearl Harbor was attacked and shared many stories of growing up on her home island. On April 3, 1948 she married George Norris, Sr. in Honolulu, HI and they were married for 65 years. After his career in the Air Force, they retired to his hometown of Havelock and moved to Adams Creek. Ruth was a dedicated member of Oak Grove UMC and loved her congregation and friends dearly. Her hugs and kisses will be missed by all. She is survived by her daughter, Denise and husband Danny Rountree of Hahira, GA; son, George and wife Laura Norris of Adams Creek; grandsons, Zac and wife Marla Rountree; Eli and wife Alina Rountree all of Hahira, GA; Corbitt and wife Danielle Norris of Beaufort; and Nevin Norris and fiance Holly Nickell of Adams Creek; and great-grandchildren, Suzanna Rountree; Silas Rountree; Avery Rountree; Graham Norris; and Lydia Norris; sister, Rose Howard of Oxnard, CA; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Norris, Sr.; parents Louis and Isabel Jardin; brothers, Dan Sylva and Sonny Sylva; sisters, Mabel Washburn; Eleanor Chestikof; Margaret Landgraf; and Alice Vause.
