Sara Danielle George, daughter of Gerald Lynn George Sr. and Janice Faye Small George was born on October 29, 1976, in Havelock, North Carolina. She attended Craven County public schools (Havelock High School c/o 95). Our Sara was such a special person; she was a hard worker and cared for her family immensely. Her kindness was not limited to family because if she knew you were in need, she would provide what she could. Our Sara had a compassionate heart as shown through her work as a caregiver at Life Inc for several years. As a caregiver she dedicated her life to helping others. Her nurturing characteristics carried over as she started working at Carteret Community College in 2019 where she met some lifelong friends.

Her energy entered the room before she did, and the impact of her presence lingered long after she left. As she was a private person there are many stories that remain untold, but the brightness of her soul will forever stand out. Her effect on others is as everlasting as the world continues turning. She used tough love, guiding three children through the waves of life as best she knew how. She was humorous, resilient, and dependable. As a sister she was a trip, but the best kind. A stubborn yet loving daughter that cherished her mother up until her last breath.

Her favorite thing about God was that He never gives up on anyone. In calm, peaceful, and quiet times where she reflected on God’s grace. Those moments eased her worries, even if it was for a little while. Now she’s fully at peace, her soul resting in the arms of Jehovah God, who never gave up on her.

Even through her tumultuous time at the hospital, she touched many of the staff. Through her glow, her smile, her laugh. She showed her strength by allowing herself to be vulnerable. Every day she pushed herself to get better for herself, and her family. Through the toughest times, she still found a way to keep her spirit and that “you better stop” look reserved for mothers. She perfected it really. Surrounded by love and family, there were times she did the comforting. Forever a rock for her loved ones, even when she felt untethered.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing her beyond the superficial knew how precious she was. Sara will forever hold a special place in our hearts, as she holds one in God's memory.

Sara leaves behind her husband, Michael Ware of New Bern, NC; her three children, Kendall George of Greenville, NC, Emonee George and Janaya George both of Havelock NC; stepson, Xavier Ware of New Bern, NC; granddaughter, Aundii Utley of New Bern, NC; a loving mother, Janice S. George of Beaufort, NC; grandma, Rose George of Havelock, NC; one brother, Gerald Lynn George Jr. of Beaufort, NC; two sisters, Ebony George of Beaufort, NC and Audra George-Afubu, and brother in-love Gambo Afubu of Broadway, North Carolina; as well as a loving, supportive host of aunts, uncles’ cousins, nephews, and nieces.
