Sarah Guthrie Crosswell, 93, of Beaufort, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City.
Born and raised in Beaufort, Sarah was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Beaufort, where her faith as an unwavering follower of Jesus Christ was a guiding force throughout her life.
Sarah dedicated over 40 years of her professional life as the office manager at James Crosswell Family Practice. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her love for her patients and staff, whom she treated with the utmost care and respect. Her colleagues and patients alike remember her as a compassionate and diligent professional who always put others first.
Family was at the heart of Sarah's life. She cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, finding immense joy in the company of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Her love extended beyond her family to her church community and her beloved pets, all of whom she held dear.
Sarah's life was a testament to selflessness and dedication. She consistently gave her best in every endeavor, embodying a spirit of generosity and kindness that touched all who knew her. Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Beaufort with Pastor Rick Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens in Beaufort. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
She is survived by her son, James Crosswell Jr. of Newport; granddaughter, Sarah Diehl and husband Mike of Swansboro; grandson, Sharpe Williams of Wilmington; grandson, Joseph Crosswell of Newport; great granddaughter, Anna Christy Diehl of Swansboro; and son-in-law, Jimmy Willams of Swansboro
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Sarah Guthrie; daughter, Christy Williams; and grandson, James “Jack” Crosswell III.
