Shad Williams

Shad Carter Williams, 37, passed away Tuesday January 5, 2016 at his home. Shad was born on April 12, 1978 in Mt. Kisco, New York. His family moved to Carteret County in 1992. Shad started working towards a career as a carpenter at a very early age and was instrumental in helping his father build their home in Deerfield Shores. Shad became a Master Carpenter and during his career supervised the building of ten homes for Crystal Coast Habitat for Humanity. He was a member of Americorp Vista. Shad and Erica became the closest of friends shortly after his move to Beaufort. He was a loving husband and a devoted caregiver to Erica who has been ill in recent years. He was the "Best Daddy in the World" to their 3 children, Mackenna, Landen and Hayden. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Erica Sorensen Williams of Beaufort; daughter, Mackenna Ramsie of the home; two sons, Landen Gary and Hayden Carter of the home; parents, Kandy and Wayne Williams of Morehead City; two brothers, Justin Williams and Travis Williams both of Morehead City; Erica's parents, Harry and Val Preddy of Beaufort. The family will celebrate his life with Pastor Jason Villegas on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 900 Arendell Street Morehead City, NC.
