Obituary Stella Godette Jackson was born on December 4, 1945 to the late Henderson and Lucy Gray Godette Jr. in Craven County, North Carolina. In the early morning of October 4, 2020, God sent an angel to escort Stella to heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Gloria Elaine Godette; her brothers: Vincent Lee Godette and Chris Lavell Godette and her loving husband, Robert Bernard Jackson to whom she was married for nearly 40 years. Stella attended Queen Street High School in Beaufort, North Carolina. Upon graduation, Stella moved to New York where she went on to earn a degree in business from Westchester Business Institute. She spent over 30 successful years as an Executive Secretary for IBM Corporation before retiring in 2012. Stella had a bright personality and an infectious smile. She had a beautiful spirit and was loved by all. She loved her family and could be counted on whenever they were in need. She adored her children and was the perfect grandmother to her grandsons. Stella accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age as a member of Craven Corner Missionary Baptist Church in Havelock, North Carolina. She continued her service to Christ as a member of Christ Temple Church in White Plains, New York for many years before relocating to Atlanta, Georgia. Stella loved the Lord. Her favorite bible verse was Romans 8:28, which reads: "and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God." A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday at Craven Corner Missionary Baptist Church of Havelock. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00P PM at Bridgeway Church of Beaufort. She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Anthony Jackson (Sandra) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Robert Jackson, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, and Stephanie Dauway (Stephen) of Irmo, South Carolina; her sister, Glenda McDonald (Charles) of Beaufort, North Carolina; her brother, Edward Lee Godette of Raleigh, North Carolina; five grandsons, numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and dear friends.
