Tammie Lee Gillikin

Obituary Tammie S. Gillikin, 60, of Otway, NC died Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City. Mrs. Gillikin was born in Morehead City to Molly Willis Springle and Gene Autry Springle. She grew up on Harkers Island and attended East Carteret High School and Carteret Community College. She cherished her family, had an impeccable work ethic and enjoyed living her life in Carteret County. She was especially fond of our "Diamond Lady," the Cape Lookout Lighthouse. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Smyrna Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor William O'Neal officiating. A visitation will follow the service from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. She is survived by her husband, Kevin Wayne Gillikin of Otway; daughter, Crystal Davis and husband Barney of Otway; son, Christopher Lupton of Otway; sister, Paula Daniels and husband Bruce of Otway; sister, Debbie Lewis and husband Jeff of Otway; brother, Gene Springle Jr. of Bettie; three sister-in-laws, Wendy Garner and husband Durwood, Ginger Wellons, and Kelly Jordan and husband Mike; grandchildren, Haley Peregoy and Danielle Davis; aunt, Almeta Chadwick Willis; as well as many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was blessed right up to her last moments with some very special lifelong friends. As everyone knows she adored her fur babies: Gee-Gee, Savannah, Sissy and even Vader! She is preceded in death by her parents, Gene Autry and Molly Willis Springle; and in-laws, Kenneth and Janette Gillikin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brody School of Medicine and Cancer research or the Carteret County Humane Society or any local pet rescue/shelter.
