Teresa Lynn Bruce

Teresa Bruce, 60, of Beaufort, passed away Saturday, January 06, 2018 at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC after battling an aggressive form of lung cancer. Teresa was affectionately known as "Mama T" to the many individuals who were touched by her generous loving and nurturing spirt. Teresa knew Christ was the anchor of her soul and believed her mission to be to spread Gods love to the most vulnerable of individuals. Teresa and her husband, David moved to Beaufort, North Carolina in 2003 after feeling a strong pull to go into full-time Christian ministry. While living in Beaufort Teresa eventually gave up employment with Carteret County School System to work full-time at Loaves and Fishes of Beaufort, a Christian non-profit ministry that strives to serve the needs of the community while bringing glory to God. A memorial service will be held on January 24, 2018 at 6:00pm at Calvary Baptist Church located at 119 Bunch Road Beaufort, North Carolina. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, David Bruce of Beaufort, North Carolina; son, Josh Bruce of Raleigh, North Carolina; daughter, Christina Bruce of Somerset, New Jersey; six grandchildren; her mother, Iva Lee West of Kernersville, North Carolina; two brothers, James Crabb of Charlotte, North Carolina; Dwight Crabb of Kernersville, North Carolina.
