Timothy Heemstra

Obituary Timothy Marc Heemstra passed away on October 11, 2021, at the age of 71 in his hometown of Beaufort, NC. His battle with cancer in recent years showed his courage in facing lifes challenges with a smile. Despite his struggles, Tim exemplified peace, strength and compassion for his loved ones. Tim was born in Grand Rapids, MI where he lived until he met the love of his life, Pearl. The couple moved to New Jersey where they raised four amazing children. His occupations included serving in the US Army and driving trucks, and later they moved to California where Tim worked at his familys sign business. But he was best known for devoting his time to his hobbies, tinkering with home projects, and serving in his church. In his later years, he passionately cared for the birds that would visit his backyard each morning. His children will always remember him as the man who "knew everything". Tim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pearl, his children Steve and Marci Heemstra, Rebecca Heemstra, Jeremy and Sara Taylor, and Ryan and Lauren Heemstra, and his seven grandchildren Monica Robinson, Marc Robinson, Micah Heemstra, Annelise Heemstra, Timothy Heemstra, Zoey Taylor and Mallory Heemstra. He is also survived by his brothers Bob, Bill, and Rick Heemstra, and his two sisters, Rachel McGee and Jann Cook. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond & Betty Heemstra.
