William 'Billy' Lane Sutton

William "Billy" Lane Sutton 81, passed away Monday at his home in Beaufort. Billy was raised in Bettie and graduated from Smyrna High School. He served honorably in the US Army for 28 years. Billy was stationed throughout Europe and Asia along with one tour in Vietnam. He retired as a Master Sergeant in 1983. A graveside service will take place at the Arthur Family Cemetery in Bettie on Saturday November 26, 2016 at 2:00PM with military honors. He is survived by cousins Lester Knudsen of Bettie, Clark Knudsen of Aiken, SC, Harold Knudsen of Beaufort, Richard Knudsen of Beaufort and Tammy Knudsen of Bettie. He was preceded in death by his mother Griselda Cotton, father William Sutton, brother Mac Willis.
